Neopets goes independent, Neopets Insider Returns

Read Time:1 Minute, 16 Second

As any casual reader might have noticed, Neopets Insider has been dead for a while. This was mainly due to the fact that our beloved pet site seemed to be headed for irrelevance. As Neopets just didn’t get any updates and didn’t speak out about issues. However, as it turns out Neopets has gone independent and new things are on the way. Hence why we’ve signed in today again, put our pets in the Neolodge and started playing again.

About a couple of months ago it has been announced that Jumpstart, the parent company of Neopets, would be shutting down. Which arguably meant bad news for Neopets, but it turns out that a former employee, who was in charge of the Neopets Metaverse named Dominic Law, decided to buy Neopets.

Now we here at Neopets Insider hate the Neopets Metaverse with a burning passion, but it turns out that Dominic Law has been playing Neopets for over 20 years and is aware that the community didn’t take kindly to the Metaverse. So now the Neopets Metaverse has been shutdown.

Neopets.com will now be the sole focus of the newly formed World of Neopia.

We’ve already seen a couple of improvements in reaction time to tickets and there’s been an AMA with Dominic Law, which covered the Altador Cup 2022 fiasco to a certain extend.

While we’re still initially skeptical of Dominic’s crypto-affiliation, we’re happy to see Neopets as an independent company now and we’ll grand him the benefit of the doubt.
