Altador Cup Coverage – Day 15: TNT’er Dingo confirms that cheaters will be taken care of like last year, changes to AC coming next year.

Good afternoon Neopians, the most important news today is the fact that players have found the cheaters team this year which is likely the hugely popular Darigan Citadel, which makes it even more annoying as their are many people on Darigan’s team that actually do want to win fair and square.
In response to this TNT staffer Dingo has confirmed on the Neopets Subreddit Discord that the cheaters will be taken care off in a similar manner as last year’s cheaters infested group Lost Dessert.
The following statements were released:
I can’t really say much for whether we really know who is doing what but I can confirm that we are monitoring teams and trends and trying to keep an eye on what looks fishy!
Next up Dingo got a question:
a question: if you confirm a team had the cheaters is there any retroactive score changes that could possibly happen? am just curious as certain teams lost crucial matches when the suspected cheating would have started. just want to know if we should expect anything like this
To which he responded with:
Yes, I do think they would want to do something like that! Similar to what was done last year with Lost Desert (which btw, was tragic because that was always my team as a user and those cheetahs made it embarrassing to be associated with them >:’3)
So we can be assured that the cheaters team will be taken care off, how this will be done is another question but we can imagine TNT wanting to keep that to themselves.
Another question was asked about the finals this year, many are concerned that even during the finals teams in the mid-tier bracket can jump into the top-tier bracket if they’re lucky.
If you don’t mind me adding one last comment, re: Finals @TNT Dingo – I think we’d all prefer it was done by wins – team vs team – then we can get into games won to determine who wins each bracket after RR1. (If I’m wrong in this everyone , do tell me.) We all love daily results meaning something!
To which Dingo responsed with the two following replies.
I should probably not comment anything on how placements are determined right now since that is usually kept under tight wraps but at this point I think it would be better to discuss after the event is over, so everyone can see what was done and then make improvement suggestions!
I just don’t want to confirm or deny anything that might somehow make it easier for people to take advantage of the system
So according to Dingo, TNT will open up the discussion about how to improve the cup for next year, they’re also looking into the current captcha problems experienced by many players across Neopia.
Day 15 Results
Darigan, sadly infested by cheaters beat Mystery Island, which is really sad for both parties as Darigan Citadels loyal fanbase wanted to win on their own merits and team Mystery Island needed a win to get back into the top-tier.
In the Shenkuu – Krawk Island match the Birates managed to defeat Shenkuu, Shenkuu gave Krawk Island a hard time though.
Meanwhile Roo Island gave Brightvale a hard time and managed to win 2 out of the 4 games, sadly they couldn’t win the entire match but it is still an impressive feat.
Virtupets vs Moltara ended in Moltara getting beaten without a single win, the space inhabitants were likely on high alert after seeing Krawk Island getting beaten by Moltara.
As for interesting matches today: Maraqua vs Kreludor will be fascinating to see unfold, as both teams will continue to face tough opponents till the end of this round. As will Moltara vs Shenkuu be interesting to see, both mid-tier teams with a fighting spirit to change the course.
