2 months ago I spent 5,45 million Neopoints on restocking my store: here is how much I made back in sales.

So I decided to try a crazy experiment: blow all my Neopoints that I’ve worked so hard for over the past decade on restocking my store in the hopes of earning it all back. Obviously that would take a long time but I figured that since I have all the patience in the world and since Halloween is around the corner it would be the perfect time to stock up on goods for my Goth clothing store. I ended up spending NP, marked up all items with at least 25% and made back.
Here you can find my current stock at the moment, about 79 items that remained after my last stocking spree in which I spent about 1.6 million Neopoints.
The first item I bought was the Gothic Kougra Jacket, which recently sold out in my shop at a price point of 270.000 NP. I used the SSW to find 9 of them, the cheapest one being 150K and the most expensive one 280K.
In total I spent 2,101,309 NP on 9 Gothic Kougra Jackets. Now the cheapest to be found in the SSW was 350K
Adding my 25% minimum mark up would make their new price 291,849 NP rounded up which isn’t too far from the prices I bought them and still relatively cheap. Were I to sell all those jackets I’d make 2,626,641 NP of which 525,332 NP would be profit.
Next Up was Gothic Kougra Trousers, also a hot seller in my store that had sold out at a price point of 140,000 NP recently.
I used the SSW to find 5 of them, the cheapest one being 148,911 NP and the most expensive one 240K.
In total I spent 1,009,911 NP on 5 trousers. Now the cheapest to be found in the SSW was 299K.
Adding my 25% minimum mark up would make their new price 252,228 NP rounded up. Were I to sell all those jackets I’d make 1,261,140 NP of which 251,229 NP would be profit.
Next up was Gothic Kougra Wig which was in the perfect market, JellyNeo reported them selling for around 138K but I was lucky and found 5 selling under 117K! In total I spent 576,697 NP on the wigs.
Even with my 25% mark up I still ended up being cheaper than most competitors, while my new price would be 144,175 the cheapest competitor still charged 700 NP more. If I were to sell all those wigs I’d make 720,875 NP of which 144,178 NP would be profit.
Next up was Goth Blumaroo Make up, I can’t remember how much I used to sell it for but it did certainly sell before. Here I ran into a little bummer, there was someone else who sold those things for 201K a piece and had 4 of them in stock. Buying them out and applying the 25% could be tricky as the mark up would be about 60K higher than the current JellyNeo price but I bit through and did it anyway.
Now I had spent 1282,878 NP on 7 Goth Blumaroo make up, the cheapest one being 129,990 NP and the most expensive one being 201,000 NP.
Adding my 25% minimum mark up would make their new price 229,086 NP rounded up. Were I to sell all those items I’d make 1,603,598 NP of which 320,070 NP would be profit.
Last up I spent 495,000 NP on 4 Gothic Kougra shoes, the cheapest one being 122K and the most expansive one being 125K, the next seller sold it for 158K which was perfect for me as I’d still be cheaper than them with my 25% profit mark up. Were I to sell all those items I’d make 618,752 NP of which 123,752 NP would be profit.
Profit Milestone:
Before I continue let’s check out how much I’ve spent so far and how much profit I’d be making in total.
So far I’ve spent 5,465,795 NP
If all sold sales: 6,831,006 NP
If all sold profit: 1,365,211 NP
Eventually I sold:
- 2 Gothic Kougra jackets
- 1 Gothic Kougra trouser
- 3 Goth Blumaroo Makeup
- 1 Gothic Kougra shoes.
Total Sales: 1,677,872 NP
Total loss: 3,787,923 NP
In conclusion, I didn’t even come close to profiting of this venture. Restocking can be a hard job, especially if you just do something like I did. There are many more high-end and low-end items that sell out quickly if you’re looking for good niches to start selling in.
Luckily I’ve been able to make a lot of it back through other ventures like battledome and food club. I’m not back at my former peak bal of 18 million (had a couple of nerkmid/scratchcard/Halloween bag crazes that sent me back 6 million)
Regardless, I am not defeated, I will likely sell the items at a loss to clear inventory and start anew with a new restocking experiment.
